here comes santa clause

You ever wish you could go back to being a kid again? No worries, no stresses, no money, no job. My wish came true as I spent today in the life of Amber, the 8 year old. It rocked.

I slept in until 10, and talked to Kevin for a while on the phone. The sun was shining, so took a shower, grabbed my skateboard and went outside. No falls yet. I really enjoy this new mode of transportation. However, it's still pretty embarrassing when I have to come to a stop at an intersection and there are cars waiting there. I look like a clumsy fool every time! You know how I love to entertain! :) I'm not quite ready to head to the skate park, or jump off curbs, but that's soon to come I'm sure. The temperature has been warm here. About 70 degrees today. I had to grab my camera and take a few pictures. The problem is: who do I take pictures of? I miss photo shoots. So, I take pictures of myself. BORING! I'm ready to go back to the days where I can grab Kevin, Presley, Madison, Hannah, or Kate and head out for a photo shoot in the middle of the day!

Presley called today to fill me in on her busy life. She's so chatty and smart. I love hearing about all her 4 year old adventures. We talked tonight about how we both love to eat snow, and she reminded me that we shouldn't eat the snow that Harley (their dog) has pooped on. What a good reminder! 12 days until I eat brown snow in MN! Yummy!

Here comes Santa Clause, Here comes Santa Clause, right down Lee Street...tonight was a rush! Bill, Jane, Brooke, Ella, Madison and I were all sitting down to a wonderful steak supper when we heard music. It took about 5 seconds for it to register in my brain! SANTA CLAUSE! Remember I saw him on Monday night driving down Torrance Blvd? Well, Friday night was Lee Street! I was wearing pajama pants and socks, but it didn't matter. We all dashed outside (I grabbed my camera of course, let's not get crazy) and ran down the street. We waited for a few minutes, so I ran home and put on some decent clothes.

When I got back outside, there he was! A whole entourage of police escorted him from street to street. Christmas music blaring from a loud speaker, and at least 40 people crowded around outside to meet him. A beautifully decorated trailer pulls him all around town. I want my kids to grow up in CA. Santa comes right to your door. No need to go to the mall. Of course, we could never pull this off in Minnesota. The kids would have frost bite, and Santa would freeze 10 minutes into it! CA rocks! Ella and Madison weren't too keen on sitting by him, so after I took their picture, I hopped on his lap and we took a self portrait. We went back into the house since it was a little chilly out, and I waited for them to drive by. Even Vera got a chance to see Santa tonight!

Well, I've got 2.5 hours to pump out a sermon and PowerPoint before I hit the hay. No more 'kid'ding around, it's time to get back to reality.

Your favorite (???) ITF member & spouse wish we could afford to fly you from MN to HI after Christmas! Santa surfs, is often found wearing a Hawaiian shirt & board shorts, and eats poi at Luau's.
