triumphant fashion

Arise to the snow-capped mountains. Now, that's the way to start a day! I'm ready to move into this house up here. The dogs are nice, the view is impeccable, and the quiet is just what I've been needing. We both got some rest...do we look adorable in the morning or what?

Karishma (K) and I had visions of shopping all night in our sleep! We got ready (got dressed to impress) and took a few pictures outside before we headed up into LA and hit up the fashion district. Of course, I had to go get on the 405 instead of the 110. It took me a few miles until I realized we were on the wrong road. So, I called Kevin, he booted up the iphone and helped us out. In the meantime, I was driving while reading the map...K steered and yelled when I needed to slow down. Zero safety here. But, we found it no trouble.

K said it looked just like Dubai. All the people, shops, and merchandise. We were both on a mission for cute purses and accessories. The only problem: the fashion district had been raided the day before by the police again!!! AH! So, there were no Coach purses to be found. We even saw some of the police walking through and confiscating the purses that looked real. Sad. So, we began walking into the shops and asking them personally if they had any Coach purses. All of them looked at us suspiciously, and said no. WE'RE NOT THE POLICE. There was no way to get them to believe us. Until...we saw two bags hanging on a rack. They weren't that cute, so we asked the lady if she had more. Luckily, she trusted us, looked around for police, walked into this secret door and came out with a large black garbage bag. We were like vultures looking for supper. K and I hovered over the bag and pulled out the 5 purses. All but two were ugly. So, we snatched them up for $30 each! And, they match!! We also found some cute scarves and jewelry to boot! In the words of Karishma, "We're triumphant!" Oh, and we found out that you can buy underwear with built in butt pads. So, I finished up all my Christmas shopping with those! :)

We made it out of the city (on a Friday) in record time. So, we ran to the store to buy supplies for cookies, tried to find two random white elephant gifts at the store (really, the best white elephant gifts come from an old box or the garage), ran up to PV to feed and let the dogs out, make cookies, and then quickly drove down to the Wallace home for the Good Shepherd staff Christmas party. Complete with delicious food, wonderful cookies from us, a white elephant gift exchange, and the most competitive game of taboo I've ever been part of. We're both zonked, and have an early morning tomorrow. Good night!
